In 2016/17 92% of Apprentices reported that their career prospects had improved as a result of completing an Apprenticeship.
The new ‘Standards’ approach to Apprenticeships replaces the old framework approach and allows access to a much wider age range from 16 and above. Apprenticeships allow individuals to combine work and study by mixing on-the-job training with real value added learning. Apprentices are employed to do a real job while studying for a formal recognised qualification.

The Apprentice Levy is a levy on UK employers to fund Apprenticeships. In England, control of Apprenticeship funding is managed via the Digital Apprentice Service (DAS). The Levy is charged on all employers with a payroll in excess of £3m at a rate of 0.5% on the excess. This money is placed in a digital account with DAS. For our Levy FAQ’s click here
Apprenticeships offer a valuable alternative to other conventional routes such as further education and full time work. In fact, apprenticeships are able to offer a mix of both, meaning you can combine on the job experience at the same time as expanding your knowledge on your chosen career path. The Government has shown how highly it regards apprenticeships by setting itself a target of 3 Million Apprenticeships by 2020 and also by establishing the Institute for Apprenticeships.

As stated on the Register of Apprentice Training Providers (RoATP) – CMT specialise in delivering a range of HR and L&D training, qualifications and apprenticeships and have been an approved CIPD centre for over 20 years.
All our Trainers have held senior positions in a range of organisations spanning the private, public and third sector. Combining our academic expertise with up to date work experience means that all learning will easily be transferred and applied to the workplace, impacting on performance and business results. Both apprentice and employer can be assured of the highest quality learning, support and guidance.
CMT can offer an equivalent level CIPD qualification and membership alongside the Apprentice qualification, further demonstrating your professionalism and providing unparalleled access to relevant L&D and HR industry resources.
CMT will provide, as part of the Apprenticeship Programme, a 3-day optional off-site ‘residential’ experience ‘event’ specifically designed to develop the requisite ‘behaviours’ stated in the standards. This is unique to CMT and, whilst educational, will be both fun and engaging.
Paul Cadman and Emma Horne (both Senior Management of CMT) instigated and drove the development of the joint L&D/HR Trailblazer Employer Group, being instrumental in the creation of the two new Standards in L&D and completion of the two stalled HR standards, the first in the country now being delivered by CMT.
In addition, Paul Cadman is on the Board of the Institute for Apprenticeships and is the Chair of the IfA Quality Committee, so you would go a long way to find involvement by your training provider who is at the very heart of Apprenticeships in the UK.
