There are four mandatory modules, totalling 75 credits, that make up the core of this qualification. These are:
Unit 1 – Teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
Unit 2 – Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
Unit 3 – Principles and models in education and training
Unit 4 – Wider professional practice and development in education and training
There are then two different routes that can be taken with Crosby Management Training (CMT) for the final 45 credits of the qualification. The first is made up of modules that apply to mainstream education and the other is a route specialising in ESOL.
The practical component is a vital aspect of the qualification and all applicants must be able to provide evidence that they have the ability to acquire a minimum of 100 hours of experience in a teaching role prior to joining the course.
