Bud Learning System
All learners will utilise our top of the range Learning Management System, Bud. Bud provides the accessibility to access your learning progress 24 hours a day along with the completion of activities all within one dashboard.
Your commitment as an apprentice
This is essentially any “training” which is received by the apprentice, and contributes towards the development of their Knowledge Skills and Behaviours covered in the apprenticeship, during their normal working hours.
This can include workshops, shadowing, writing assignment and also completion of work tasks – if you are completing these for the first time.
“OTJ Hours” need to be submitted monthly to your Bud learning platform. This is a Government requirement to ensure active apprentices are gaining the hours of training to progress within their apprenticeship and to allow funding for the apprenticeship training to be received.
Here is the Government Guidance: English and maths requirements in apprenticeship standards at Level 2 and above.
Each apprenticeship’s EPA may vary slightly on the components used to identify if you’ve met the learning requirements of your apprenticeship. Check the individual apprenticeship information to see the components of each apprenticeship.
Often, apprentices will enter a “Gateway Period” which is usually 3 months before the End Point Assessment date. During this time, although you will have access to your trainer, your programme learning will all have been completed, and you will have achieved the amount of “OTJ Hours” to progress to your EPA.
All apprentices are required to submit “Evidence of Learning” every 28 days as a requirement of the apprenticeship.
Assignments and other marking based work can be submitted through your Bud account.

If you did not achieve a C/Pass in maths or English, or cannot provide your certificates, you will need to complete a Level 2 in Functional Skills.
But don’t let this deter you, we have an excellent team of Functional Skills trainers who will work with you to achieve this.
Functional Skills in a UK Government requirement, this applies to all apprenticeship training providers in the UK.
As we are a niche specialist provider of qualifications and skills programmes, we are able to consider delivering either a short 1 to 3 hour bespoke programme or workshop on many of the CIPD HR/L&D-related syllabus topics; Apprenticeship or team leader type workshops.
