What a fantastic week to be a part of! National Apprenticeship Week 2018 kicked off on Monday and what a week it has been already!
Monday began with CMT hosting one of HR Apprenticeship Workshops at the Institute for Apprenticeships Offices in London. It was fantastic for the IFA to allow us to host our workshop their and see the IFA really engaged in #NAW2018. Apprentices on the day thoroughly enjoyed their first workshops and what better place to begin your apprenticeship journey than at the home of the Institute for Apprenticeships.
Yesterday was just as busy as CMT was invited along to the Apprenticeship Day hosted by our own former Apprentice and International Butcher turned Trainer Chris Riley. Chris was invited to speak to more upcoming apprentices about his own journey, personal successes and anything he would have done differently during his apprenticeship. Chris was joined at the event by our CEO Paul Cadman who spoke to the apprentices about how the they can have a voice on the future of apprenticeships and how the Institute were open to ideas from apprentices themselves.
Our own HR Higher Apprentice Tom was also featured in NatWest’s Report on Financial Capability and Young Workers. The report revolves around the importance of Financial Capability and how this is important but often overlooked. Tom features in a case study in the report and said ‘ it’s great to see that Financial Capability is being looked at now more closely and hopefully moving forward we will see employers, Schools, FE Institutions and Training Providers taking this into consideration and working with Young People and Apprentices to ensure they are Financially aware and set up for more long term success.
