Congratulations to our chief executive Paul Cadman who was today officially announced as a board member on the new Institute for Apprenticeships. This is a very important position and Paul, alongside 7 other board members, will play a vital role in the future of apprenticeships and ensuring the Government meets its target of 3 million apprentices by 2020.
The Process for this role was of course vigorous, with Pauls interview being held in Westminster on 4th October 2016, but Paul was chosen due to his enthusiasm for apprenticeships and the hard work he has done to promote apprenticeships in his roles as HR Director for Walter Smith, Director of WS-ELP, CEO of CMT and NAS Apprentice Ambassador. Pauls appointment to the board has been met with wide acclaim by those in the food industry and Paul will be a strong voice for the Independent Training Providers and SME businesses who play such a vital role in delivering apprenticeships and employing apprentices.
Paul is in great company on the board as he is joined by: Dr Katherine Barclay, Bev Robinson, Dame Fiona Kendrick, Robin Millar CBE, Sir Gerry Berragan, Dame Asha Kenka and Toby Peyton-Jones.
Paul is soon to begin his tenure as board member with the IFA and has said ‘The Butchery Trailblazers are fine examples of what can be achieved when employers and training specialists unite together, motivated by nothing more than achieving the very best apprenticeship training for their industry. For small businesses especially, apprentices are the life-blood of their future – I look forward to playing my part to ensuring they get the quality apprenticeships that they deserve.’
